Photo-A-Day Challenge!

I've been trying to find ways on how I could develop the habit of blogging - then I stumbled on blogger.com's post about suggestions on forcing yourself to blog and I thought posting a unique photo a day sounds feasible and fun! I've always been a fan of photography and I thought I could give lifestyle photography a shot.

Of course, it would be much more fun if I'd have a digital SLR to play with, haha! I'm just going to use my Samsung digi cam to capture the essence of my day or maybe take a pic of something I am happy about. It would be a huge feat if I could develop this trait (and the patience that goes along with it) so I could look back one day and see that life isn't all that bad. :) I think this is a great way for me to be more skilled in taking pictures and writing creatively - something about hitting two birds with one stone, don't you think?

Challenge accepted! I hope my creative juices won't let me down! Let the fun begin!

XOXO

Alexander McQueen:

So there you go! Those are my top fave designs for the Pre-Fall season. One tiny disappointment though, although I absolutely love Chanel, I'm not very ecstatic about their Pre-Fall looks since their concept was Indian-ish, and I felt it was a bit costume-y in a way. But I love their designs though, the embellishments and the kind of fabric used were excellent; I just wouldn't wear them if I were given the chance to, that's why I didn't include them. :)

But kudos to Gucci, for coveting the top spot on the most likable designs (in my opinion) for this coming season. I love the girly silhouettes, especially the maxi dress above - TO DIE FOR! Haha. But of course, I am in-love with all of these looks that I wish I could wear ALL of them.  Not to mention the white ensemble by Donna Karan - that elegance from the color and the cut is just AMAZING.

I'm hoping that one day, I get to see these designers in action in the front row of their fashion shows whether in Paris, Milan, or NYC. ^^.

Upcoming Trends for 2012's Spring

Yes, the picnic days are just around the corner as the winter season gears up to its height. With flowers blooming, ice defrosting, and leaves regrowing, we are hyped up to start the next season. For the fashionista, however, it's time to start digging in their closets and anticipate the next best trends for Spring.

Vogue, in their January issue, has named 10 top staples that should let you fall in step with what is hot right now. Here are my top choices:

1. Statement Shades
These sunnies became very in-demand since autumn of last year but still continues to rock the runways, get featured in magazines and blogs, and worn by celebrities! This is a must-have accessory to instantly flaunt your outfit or, glam up a rather simple get-up for the day. Retro-inspired, anything goes with these shades; I'm sure you won't go wrong with these. :)

2. 1920's Inspired

These are designs by Ralph Lauren in his 2012 Spring Fashion Show in NYC last September 2011. I love the silhouettes; the shimmer and the soft color palette he chose truly reflects an elegance for springtime.

Feathered dresses are also reminiscent of the 1920s; this one is by Oscar de la Renta.

A flapper girl dress by Marchesa; very 1920s! I could dance the night away in this dress!

Tory Burch's shimmery, sequined twenties-inspired dress.

By the way, my favorite trends coming from this era are the vintage head accessories which for me are just so classy and timeless. That is why Coco Chanel tops my list of the most influential women ever to exist. ^.^

3. Polished Leather

I would love to wear this in shorts a la Serena van der Woodsen! The texture could make any outfit fashion-forward and fierce because of the androgynous feel of it.

Need I say more? Just be careful of accessorizing your outfit - less is more for this type of look. :)

4. Head-to-Toe Prints

Peter Som's evening wear.

Jason Wu's casual but classy floral romper. My favorite!

An H-to-T design by J. Crew. All these were featured in NYC's Fashion Week for Spring 2012. Have you noticed most of them are in blue? Vibrant floral patterns are going to be in this Spring, so don't be afraid to show your lively hues.

5. Geometric Patterns

Derek Lam's preference of earthy tones for patterns.

Donna Karan's style of mixing shapes to accentuate a woman's body in this design is superb. I love the urban feel and the earth tones this has.

Amzing color-blocked t-shirt dress by Tribune Standard.

By far, my favorite among tribal/African-ish designs by Zero Maria Cornejo. This look is ultra chic as it mixes dots and stripes.

So, these are my faves so far! Are you guys excited for Spring? XOXO :)
